Lady Gaga threeASFOUR costume fetches $15,625 at auction
A metal-and-mesh costume designed by threeASFOUR and worn by Lady Gaga for a Harper’s Bazaar photo shoot has sold for more than $15,000 in an online auction Tuesday, according to the Nate D. Sanders auction house.
The winning bid -- and, according to the item’s online listing, the sole bid -- was $15,625 when the virtual gavel came down at 5 p.m. PDT April 29, an amount that includes the buyer’s premium (a fee that goes to the auction house). The minimum bid for the sequin, metal and stretchy mesh bodysuit was listed as $12,500.
Despite the apparent bidding party of one, that amount represents a substantial premium over what the same Gaga frock fetched on its first trip to the auction block, selling for $3,839 barely two months earlier.
