Beyonce celebrates Giuseppe Zanotti’s Beverly Hills store expansion
Giuseppe Zanotti’s bejeweled, sky-high heels are favorites of the Hollywood and music video crowds.
So it was only a little surprising when reigning pop queen Beyonce Knowles made a quick but crowd-pleasing cameo during a cocktail party Tuesday night celebrating the expansion of Zanotti’s Beverly Hills boutique. The singer, wearing a body-hugging white dress by Bec & Bridge and a black wide-brimmed hat, swooped through and did a lap around the store with the designer.
Knowles’ stylist, Ty Hunter, accompanied her to the event at the store on Brighton Way and attended the post-party dinner that followed at the Sunset Tower Hotel, along with fellow power stylists Sophie Lopez (Kate Hudson), Caley Rinker (Gwyneth Paltrow, Gillian Jacobs) and costume designer B. Akerlund (Madonna, Britney Spears).
Teetering on a pair of strappy black Giuseppe Zanotti stilettos was a pregnant Naya Rivera, of “Glee” fame, who is a longtime fan of Zanotti’s designs. “I’ve been a big fan for a while and wear his shoes all the time,” said Rivera who was clad in a billowing black Tamara Mellon dress. “There were a ton of sneakers at the store that I was eyeing.” She added that sneakers might be her best bet for chasing after a child.
Katherine McPhee, Gillian Jacobs and musician Kid Cudi were also on hand to celebrate the designer on the hotel’s breezy outside terrace.
“Celebrities have always been a great part of my career. To me they are like modern princesses,” said Zanotti of his brand’s cachet in Hollywood. “Through them I’m able to show my most extravagant creations. I like to appeal to all women. But celebrities are the most effective way to bring attention to my brand worldwide.”
Of his L.A. fan base, Zanotti said: “In L.A., the market is very fashion-forward and open to new trends. The city is an innovative hub and customers are very much responsive to the Giuseppe Zanotti collection.”
The 1,738-square-foot store houses a large selection of the collection, complete with several sneaker styles and a recently added area devoted to men’s shoes.
