YouTube star Grace Helbig nabs E! talk show gig
Grace Helbig, who has gained star status on YouTube and the Web, has scored her own talk show on E! Entertainment.
Helbig, who is best known for her “It’s Grace” YouTube channel, which has 2 million subscribers, will headline “The Grace Helbig Project” (working title), which is slated to premiere in April. The show will feature her “uber fan” point of view of what’s trending in pop culture, along with interviews with celebrities.
Said Jeff Olde, executive vice president of original programming and development for E! in a statement: “This show is a fresh take on the conventional talk show with an unconventional host who has already captured an enormous fan base of young viewers on the Web.”
“Congratulations to E! for giving an Internet-obsessed introvert a talk show,” added Helbig in a statement. “I’m looking forward to working with humans.”
