‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ heads to ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’
Late-night television just can’t get enough “Star Wars.”
The latest show to celebrate the Dec. 18 return of the legendary film series is ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” In the midst of his show’s Halloween episode, during which he was dressed as Princess Leia and the rest of his staff, band and all, as various other characters from the “Star Wars” universe, Kimmel announced that the show would be airing a special “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” edition on Nov. 23.

The announcement was apropos, considering that Kimmel’s guest for the evening was one of the stars of the original “Star Wars” trilogy, Harrison Ford, who participated in his interview while dressed as a hot dog. That Ford was dressed as a hot dog is probably not of consequence, other than the fact that it makes for an excellent interview clip.
“Jimmy Kimmel Live” has scored most of the stars of “The Force Awakens” for its “Star Wars” episode, including Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver and John Boyega, as well as director J.J. Abrams.
Kimmel’s “Star Wars” episode is almost certainly a fortuitous byproduct of Disney owning both ABC and the “Star Wars” franchise, meaning that Kimmel definitely had an inside track when it came to landing the stars of the series.

The announcement comes on the heels of Stephen Colbert sharing his own fan theory about the upcoming film on Wednesday night’s “The Late Show,” further proving that “Star Wars” fandom knows no limits. Or, alternatively, that dudes in their late 40s and early 50s who host late-night shows are really excited about it.
“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” debuts in theaters on Dec. 18.
