Amy Schumer outmatched by Miley Cyrus as ‘SNL’ ratings drop this week
Despite having a phenomenal year on the whole, with the box office hit “Trainwreck,” a multimillion dollar book deal and an Emmy for “Inside Amy Schumer,” there’s one area where Amy Schumer just couldn’t measure up: “Saturday Night Live” ratings.
Hosting the second episode of the late-night sketch comedy show’s 41st season along with musical guest The Weeknd, Schumer drew a 3.9 overall household rating, down from the 4.5 earned by last week’s season premiere, hosted by controversial pop star Miley Cyrus.

The drop was far less precipitous in the adults 18-49 audience, however, with Saturday night’s episode scoring a 1.9, in comparison to last week’s 2.0.
The numbers for the Schumer/Weeknd episode were comparable to the second episode of “Saturday Night Live’s” 40th season, when host Sarah Silverman and musical guest Maroon 5 similarly scored a 3.9 overall household rating.
“Saturday Night Live” airs its third episode of the season on Oct. 17, when former cast member Tracy Morgan makes his triumphant return to host, after sustaining extensive injuries in a devastating car accident last year. He will be joined by musical guest Demi Lovato.
