NBC renews ‘Chicago Fire,’ ‘Chicago P.D.,’ ‘Grimm’ for next season
NBC’s options next season became a little clearer on Wednesday, as the network gave early renewals to three more of its current dramas.
The fantasy “Grimm” will return for Season 4, while two procedurals from producer Dick Wolf -- “Chicago Fire” and its spinoff “Chicago P.D.” -- also made the cut. The network previously announced that it would bring the thriller “The Blacklist” back next season as well.
The return for “Chicago P.D.” was something of a surprise, because the show has earned mediocre reviews and ratings since its January premiere.

But NBC can afford to be patient, as it’s enjoying an overall ratings turnaround and currently is ranked No. 1 in the adults ages 18 to 49 demographic favored by advertisers.
Some prominent NBC shows still waiting for word of renewal include “Revolution,” “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” and “The Biggest Loser.”
