‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’ to air on NBC this holiday season
The Grinch is coming to NBC.
The network announced Thursday that the 1967 animated holiday special “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” will air on its network starting this holiday season.
The television classic, from Dr. Seuss (Theodor Geisel) and animator Chuck Jones, follows the green and small-hearted Grinch as he tries to steal the holiday from the Whos living in the town of Whoville.
NBC will air the Grinch special for two runs per holiday season as part of a three-year licensing deal with Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution.
The special previously aired on ABC, helping the network deliver its best Christmas night result in five years with the key 18-to-49-year-old demographic. It drew a solid 6 million viewers.
