Jay Leno: Obama, Biden joke latest recycled bit from ‘Tonight’ host
Maybe Jay Leno has a case of senioritis, because the soon-to-be-departing “Tonight Show” host appears to be slacking off in the joke-writing department.
Leno - who will vacate his “Tonight” role in February after more than 20 years behind the desk - was caught this week recycling one of his own jokes about President Obama and Joe Biden.
“Remember the old days when President Obama’s worst embarrassment was Joe Biden?” Leno joked Tuesday, in reference to the tech-plagued Obamacare rollout.
As Mediaite pointed out, this was a virtual word-for-word retelling of the same punchline from last May.

(As a matter of fact, Leno wasn’t just borrowing from himself in Tuesday’s monologue. His crack about Obama aide Kathleen Sebelius being thrown under the bus is essentially the same joke as was used on the Weekend Update segment of “Saturday Night Live” three days earlier.)
This isn’t the first time Leno has been rapped for wheeling out stale leftovers.
At the White House Correspondents Dinner in 2010, the comic was busted for a routine filled with one-liners that he’d previously told on “Tonight,” according to Politico.
Showtracker asked NBC for comment but didn’t immediately hear back.
What do you think of Leno and his apparent joke-recycling?
