Jackie Collins overlooked in Emmys ‘In Memoriam’ tribute

“In Memorium” tributes at awards shows have gotten notice in recent years for who is included — and who’s not.

At this Emmys, one glaring omission was author Jackie Collins, who died Saturday after a battle with breast cancer. She was 77.

Collins, the sister of actress JoanCollins (“Dynasty”), was a fixture on the Hollywood scene, frequenting celebrity hangouts and hot spots where she gathered material for many of her 30 bestselling novels. Many of those novels were adapted into hit miniseries and TV movies.

Projects adopted from Collins’ novels include “Hollywood Wives,” “Hollywood Wives: The New Generation” and “Lucky Chances” with Farrah Fawcett and Melissa Gilbert.

Gilbert, who starred in “Hollywood Wives: The New Generation,” tweeted Saturday: “An amazing woman. Talented. Funny. Kind. One of my very favorite producers ever. She will be deeply missed.”

Collins also produced the 2004 TV documentary “Jackie Collins Presents” and appeared this year in “Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!”
