‘Grimm’ gets an upgrade to Tuesdays

NBC’s ratings news has been grim lately, but one bright spot has been “Grimm.” Now in its second season, the supernatural drama, which has performed well on Friday nights, is getting a schedule upgrade. It’s moving to Tuesdays.

The series, which stars David Giuntoli as a Portland homicide detective who learns he’s part of an ancient line of people who battle mythical creatures, will begin airing on Tuesdays on April 30 after a two-hour episode of “The Voice.”

That may not mean a whole lot for this season, which has only four more episodes left after this week but could mean a huge boost in viewership for the crucial May sweeps period.

The move could be seen as a vote of confidence in the show, which is likely headed for a third-season renewal.

Of course, the arrival of “Grimm” on Tuesdays means the Eva Longoria-produced reality series “Ready for Love” is finished.

And in “Grimm’s” old Friday slot, the NBC stalwart “Dateline” will take its place.
