Still saving up for that trip to Dollywood? Not to worry. NBC will soon be bringing Dolly Parton to living rooms across the country.

On Friday, the network announced that it had signed a deal to develop a slate of TV movies “based on the songs, stories and inspiring life” of the country music legend.

“I don’t know anyone in the world who doesn’t love Dolly Parton, and the idea of developing television movies inspired by her incredible life and the stories she has sung about for decades is exciting to all of us at NBC,” said NBC entertainment Chairman Bob Greenblatt in a news release. ”I hope we will create some uplifting movies that the entire family can enjoy together, a genre of programming that still seems largely untapped on television.”

The collaboration with Parton marks the latest foray into family-friendly programming at NBC, following its successful live stagings of “The Sound of Music” and “Peter Pan.”

“We’re so excited about working with her to infuse these movies with her incredible work ethic and that genuine hopefulness and positive outlook that has been her trademark for years,” said NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke. “And you can bet there will be a lot of her music in them too.”

Parton, who worked with Greenblatt on the Broadway musical adaptation of her film “9 to 5,” will also produce. No word on whether the singer, who also starred in the movies “Straight Talk” and “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas,” has plans to appear in any of the NBC projects, but one can only hope.
