The CW is putting down roots in West Covina.

On Friday, the network announced that “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” will be returning for a second season, putting to rest (for now) speculation about the fate of the low-rated critical darling.

Golden Globe-winner Rachel Bloom stars in the inventive comedy-musical about an accomplished young woman who quits her high-powered job as an attorney in New York and relocates to suburban West Covina, Calif., (“just two hours from the beach!”) in pursuit of a guy she briefly dated as a teenager.

Less surprising were the renewals for “Jane the Virgin,” another critically beloved series about an offbeat heroine, and the network’s growing lineup of comic book adaptations. Also returning next season are “Arrow,” “The Flash,” “D.C.’s Legends of Tomorrow,” “The Originals,” “Reign,” “Supernatural,” “iZombie,” “The Vampire Diaries” and “The 100.”

The announcement did not include information about return dates or how many episodes of each series had been ordered.

“The CW has become home to some of the most critically-acclaimed shows on broadcast television, with a wide array of fantastic scripted series across the week, ranging from musical comedy, to superhero action, to gritty sci-fi dramas,” CW President Mark Pedowitz said in a news release.
