Bob Barker returns to ‘Price Is Right’ for his 90th birthday
Bob Barker retired from the “The Price Is Right” in 2007, but he can’t stay away. The legendary 90-year-old game show host and pet advocate will be making a return appearance on the game show on Thursday to celebrate his birthday.
But will audiences remember the great Barker six years after his departure from the show? Judging by the crowd’s reaction in this clip from Thursday’s show, that’s a resounding yes! The episode was actually taped last month, but that still doesn’t detract from the joy of seeing Barker on the “Price Is Right” stage once again.
It’s appropriate that Barker’s return to the show comes during Pet Adoption Week, a subject near and dear to his heart. As current host Drew Carey points out, it’s because of Barker that every show ends with the request that you get your pets spayed and neutered.

Barker began hosting “Price Is Right” in 1972 and left in 2007. Since his departure, he’s made just one other appearance on the show, in 2009, to promote his autobiography.
Barker has been spending his post-”Price Is Right” years continuing his work with animals, including a sizable donation to PETA in 2010 in order to open a new Los Angeles office. The Bob Barker Building opened in 2012 on Sunset Boulevard.
Will Carey give Barker a spin at the big wheel? Doubtful. At 90-years-old, a slice of birthday cake may be all the excitement an old game show host can take.
