ABC orders ‘Uncle Buck’ series reboot with Mike Epps
“Uncle Buck” is back.
ABC has ordered a sitcom for the 2015-16 TV season based on the 1989 movie comedy starring John Candy.
This time, the title role of an irresponsible but fun-loving middle-aged man who arrives to look after his brother’s kids will be played by stand-up comic and “Next Friday” costar Mike Epps.
The ABC version won’t be the first time “Uncle Buck” has made it to the small screen. CBS tried a 1990 sitcom starring stand-up comic Kevin Meaney but it lasted less than a season.
ABC will officially announce its fall schedule to advertisers next week in New York.
