‘SNL’ to launch season Sept. 15 with Seth MacFarlane, Frank Ocean
“Saturday Night Live” will launch its 38th season on Sept. 15 with host Seth MacFarlane and musical guest Frank Ocean, NBC announced today.
It will mark the “SNL” debut for both MacFarlane, creator of “Family Guy” and writer-director of the raunchy summer hit, “Ted,” and Ocean, the rising R&B; star. Ocean already has found success at 30 Rockefeller Plaza: He wowed in his first TV performance this summer on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.”
Other confirmed talent includes Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who will host the show for the second time on Sept. 22 with musical guests Mumford & Sons, and on Oct. 6, Daniel Craig and his fellow countrymen, Muse.

What “SNL” has yet to announce is who will be replacing recently departed cast members Kristen Wiig, Andy Samberg and Abby Elliott, or whether Jason Sudeikis will be returning to the fold. Stay tuned.
