May 20, 1998: Sheen overdosed after trying to inject himself with cocaine, for which he was hospitalized. His father, actor Martin Sheen, turned him in for violating his parole and issued a public appeal for his fans to pray for his son. Sheen was sent to rehab.

Dec. 25, 2009: Sheen was arrested in Aspen, Colo., on charges of domestic violence, including assault and menacing, against his wife, Brooke Mueller. Aug. 2, 2010: As a part of a plea bargain for his December ’09 arrest, Sheen pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault and the other, potentially more serious charges were dismissed. He was sentenced to 30 days in a rehabilitation center, 30 days of probation and 36 hours of anger management. Also, he was barred from possessing guns for the rest of his life.

Oct. 26, 2010: Sheen was ejected from the Plaza Hotel in New York after he reportedly caused several thousand dollars’ worth of damage to his room and admitted to drinking and taking cocaine. A woman, porn star Capri Anderson, was locked in the bathroom. She later filed a complaint saying that she had been assaulted and harassed by Sheen. His publicist said at the time that an allergic reaction to medication was to blame.
