“With his natural charm and quick wit, Jaime Camil has quickly become one of the most likeable personalities on television,” said TCA President Amber Dowling in a statement.
The TCA’s announcement also revealed that Rogelio De La Vega, Camil’s telenovela superstar character from CW’s “Jane the Virgin,” will also be on hand to fill in for Camil as needed during his hosting duties.
Camil tweeted after the announcement: “Dress code for the @OfficialTCA’s: #Lavender Avoid: #Peach”
The TCA Awards take place during the TCA Press Tour, a twice-yearly, network-by-network presentation of new and returning programming, actors, writers and executives to journalists that is in Los Angeles. The summer press tour is scheduled to run from July 27 through August 11.
