Nelly’s tour bus sidetracked by drug bust in Texas

Following in the company of Fiona Apple, Snoop Dogg and Willie Nelson, the pop-rapper Nelly is the latest artist whose crew had a drug-based run-in with cops in the small Texas town, which is quickly becoming known as America’s capital for tour inconveniences.

The MC himself was not arrested, but his staffer Brian Keith Jones claimed responsibiity for a haul including marijuana, 36 baggies of heroin and a loaded pistol. Jones was booked into the Hudspeth County Jail on Thursday night, although some accounts differ about what drugs were found on the bus - TMZ claims sources “close to Nelly” saying the heroin was actually MDMA.

Nelly has taken to Twitter to comment on the case, saying “I’m not gone front I’m MAD as Hell about this sh#t!!2have some1 who works 4u n who u call a friend 4 ova 10years jeopardize ur life WTF?...That being said he was not only an employee but he was fam some1 who protected my life 4many years!No excuses for wad he did!!!!... My heart goes out to his fam and is kids!!!!”

Either way, this is the point where we make the joke about how it’s getting hot in here, and Jones might be taking off all his clothes, only to change into an orange jumpsuit for the pokey. And so it’s done. Happy Friday.
