Kanye West and Arcade Fire announce new singles
It’s been a notable week for some of the biggest acts in music releasing between-album singles.
Now we’ve got a couple from two recent Coachella headliners: Kanye West and Arcade Fire.
West, never a stranger around here, made like Thom Yorke and slipped a brand new single into a New York Fashion Week show. West’s event differed in that it was for his own fashion collection, the Yeezy Season Two collaboration with Adidas.

Along with his drapey, athletic- and military-inspired basics, West dropped the single “Fade” as part of his runway show. The song features guests Ty Dolla Sign and Post Malone, and while it’s since been quickly scrubbed from the Internet, early looks noted that it prominently samples Hardrive’s classic house hit “Deep Inside.”
No release date, tracklist or much information at all have been confirmed about West’s forthcoming album “SWISH,” but to judge by the crowd at his NYFW return -- Anna Wintour, Drake and Lorde among them -- interest is at fever pitch.
Meanwhile, Arcade Fire had a more modest announcement of a new single.
The indie band is set to put out a new B-sides single, featuring two outtakes from its “Reflektor” sessions. “Get Right” and “Crucified Again” were recorded at the same time as the album and will be released alongside with “The Reflektor Tapes,” an experimental new documentary about the band and its Haitian- and disco-inspired album.
No release date has been set for the single, but “Tapes” -- directed by the fantastic L.A. music video visionary Kahlil Joseph -- hits theaters Sept. 24.
