‘Rockline’ host Bob Coburn dies at 68
Bob Coburn, the longtime KLOS radio personality who hosted the nationally syndicated interview program “Rockline,” has died. He was 68.
KLOS 95.5 announced Coburn’s death Saturday in a statement on its website that read, “The outpouring of love and support for this man has been truly beautiful, and we are saddened to announce that our family member and friend Bob Coburn passed away today at 12:32 p.m.
“Bob was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer earlier this year, and while he has been fighting like a champion ever since, all rock and roll journeys eventually come to an end. He wasn’t in pain and he was with his family. Today the music world lost a legend and he will forever be in our hearts. Rest easy, BC, we love you!”
The station also posted a phone number and link for grieving fans to share messages and memories of Coburn, along with audio testimonials that pay tribute to Coburn from musicians such as Lars Ulrich from Metallica.
Coburn had been with the station since 1980, taking over “Rockline” in 1981 and hosting the show, which ran until 2014.
