In advance of her Monday night performance as part of the Grammy Awards telecast, superstar pop singer Adele has announced a surprise show at the Wiltern for Friday.

The performance will be her first since she released her blockbuster new album, 25, and will precede Adele’s sold-out headlining tours of Europe and North America.

Those shows commence Feb. 29, and will include six nights at the Staples Center in August.

Adele has stood on the Wiltern stage before. The venue, which has served as a Los Angeles springboard for many successful careers, hosted the singer in 2009 during her first North American headlining tour. That was her third time performing in Los Angeles. A few lucky insiders caught her at the Hotel Cafe or the Roxy in 2008.

Those scouring agencies for tickets, flights or hotels be forewarned: Tickets for this show are being offered mostly to California-area superfans already registered at Adele.com.

For the record:

The original version of this post incorrectly identified Adele’s 2009 show at the Wiltern as her second in Los Angeles. It was her third. In 2008, she gigged at both the Hotel Cafe and the Roxy.
