RG3: ‘Music is the heartbeat of the World’
So what does Robert Griffin III, a.k.a. RG3, the Washington Redskins’ overnight-star quarterback and the NFL’s hottest new brand name, listen to in the locker room?
Hip-hop? Heavy metal?
Guess again. According to the Redskins’ official blog, RG3 has been known to stroll around grooving to Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe.”
And it turns out that RG3, the No. 1 draft pick who led the Redskins to a stunning 40-32 upset victory over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday in his NFL regular-season debut, is a budding cultural philosopher. “Music is the hearbeat of the World,” he tweeted recently, instantly coining one of the catch phrases of 2012 and, no doubt, a future slogan for Nike, Apple or your other favorite Fortune 500 company.
That only leaves the question of what Griffin will be plugged into for his NFL encore next week. Since this is football, how about Jay-Z’s “XXXO?” Any other suggestions?
