911 call reveals concern that Prince was using drugs in 2011

With the results of Prince's autopsy still pending, stories referencing the singer and drugs continue to surface.

Minnesota's Carver County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday released details of 911 calls that had come from Paisley Park since 2011, including one in which an unidentified female caller said she was concerned about Prince's cocaine use.

"He advised her last year in Germany that he cannot control his habit," reads the log of the June 20, 2011 call, "she was advised to report it." After discussion, the log says, sheriff's officials called her back and told her that since Prince was not in "immediate danger," there was nothing they could do except close the case.

In another call, at 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 23, 2013, a "dehydrated" unidentified 53-year-old man was picked up at the house and taken to an emergency hospital nearby. Prince, who died April 21, was 55 at the time.

Last week, TMZ reported that family members were saying the artist had developed an addiction to Percocet before getting hip surgery in 2010 and was getting the opiate prescribed by more than one doctor.

A CNN report last week stated that authorities investigating the death found opioid medication on his person and in his Minnesota home.

CNN cited an unnamed law enforcement official in its report. It also stated that the DEA has been brought onto the case. A spokesman for the DEA declined to comment.

On April 25, a Minnesota court appointed Bremer Trust, National Assn. as special administrator for Prince's estate. The rock star's sister, Tyka Nelson, had requested in court papers this week that Bremer be appointed because Bremer Bank provided financial services to Prince for many years.

Prince, who was 57, died April 21 at his home, Paisley Park, in Chanhassen, Minn. An autopsy has been completed but no results have been publicly released.
