How the nominees feel about #OscarsSoWhite
Countless celebrities have thrown their voices into the conversation on diversity in Hollywood following the limited number of people of color on the Oscar nominee list for the second year in a row. Monday, during the annual Oscars luncheon to honor all nominees, it was no different.
Nominees, including Rooney Mara and Sylvester Stallone, spoke about the beneifts of the conversation prompted by the hashtag #OscarsSoWhite as well as their feelings on the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ new commitment to ensuring diversity. See some of their responses below:

“To be honest, I hadn’t thought about it in terms of the next movie I’m going to make. I think casting is story driven, but I think what’s really good is that it’s alerted everybody to the problem. It’s interesting to me how television responded way earlier than I think cinema has -- in all countries -- in terms of diversity. It’s front of mind and no doubt that will influence things. However, films are story driven. If the film warrants it, of course there should be diversity of all kinds.”
