Before heading to the Treasury, Steven Mnuchin will grace the silver screen in ‘Rules Don’t Apply’
Steven Mnuchin, the former Wall Street executive selected by President-elect Donald Trump for Treasury secretary, also has deep ties to Hollywood. As a financier, he has been involved in a string of recent films, including “Mad Max: Fury Road” and “Suicide Squad.”
A perusal of his imdb.com page reveals that the 53-year-old Mnuchin has had a hand in numerous other films, including “Edge of Tomorrow,” “Inherent Vice,” “American Sniper,” “Black Mass,” “Our Brand Is Crisis,” “The Intern,” Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” “Central Intelligence,” “Sully” and “The Accountant.”

Mnuchin also was a backer of Warren Beatty’s new period piece “Rules Don’t Apply,” set in Hollywood during the late 1950s and early ’60s.
Mnuchin actually makes a cameo in the film as part of a financial team in a bungalow at the Beverly Hills Hotel waiting for an audience with eccentric industrialist Howard Hughes (played by Beatty). As a member of the same team of businessmen, actor Oliver Platt has an extended meltdown over how long they have been waiting and Mnuchin is essentially a straight-man silently watching his colleague become more and more unhinged.
