“Mad Max: Fury Road” topped favorite “The Revenant” for the sound editing Oscar. While “Max” hadn’t collected nearly as many sound editing trophies over awards season as “The Revenant,” the two films did tie for the award for sound editing: FX/foley at the Motion Picture Sound Editors’ Golden Reels the night before the Oscars.
The “Max” nominations were the fourth for Mark Mangini and the first for David White.
