See a trailer for ‘Justin Timberlake + the Tennessee Kids,’ Jonathan Demme’s new music doc
Stop looking in those “Mirrors” and look at this: The trailer for “Justin Timberlake + the Tennessee Kids” has arrived.
“Let’s #TimberlakeAndChill,” the singer-songwriter-dancer-actor-“Saturday Night Live” fixture tweeted Tuesday, along with the movie’s Oct. 12 drop date.
The doc, a Netflix Original Film directed by Jonathan Demme, captures the final show on Timberlake’s elaborate “20/20 Experience” world tour.
Oscar-winner Demme’s previous concert films show that Timberlake’s in good company: They include “Stop Making Sense” about the Talking Heads, “Neil Young Heart of Gold” and “Neil Young Trunk Show,” and “Kenny Chesney: Unstaged.”
Timberlake et al were on the road for 134 shows over 15 months in support of the pair of 2013 album releases that marked his return to music after a six-year hiatus. “Justin Timberlake + the Tennessee Kids” captures the Jan. 2, 2015, show at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Timberlake and Demme premiered the doc Sept. 13 at the Toronto International Film Festival.
“JT+TKK” was produced by Playtone Productions’ Gary Goetzman, director Demme’s “Silence of the Lambs” colleague. It’s financed by Live Nation Productions.
