Actress Cecilia Hart, the wife of actor James Earl Jones, died Oct. 16 after a year-long battle with ovarian cancer. She was 68.

Hart’s death was reported by Westportnow.com, a website based in Westport. Conn. where Hart played in a 2015 production of “Bedroom Farce” at the Westport County Playhouse.

Hart and Jones married in 1982, the same year that he played Othello opposite her Desdemona on Broadway. The couple had met several years earlier on the set of the Steven Bochco series, “Paris,” in which Hart played the young detective Sgt. Stacey Erickson and Jones the titular role of police Capt. Woody Paris.
