Flavor Flav arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon
Flavor Flav has been arrested again in Las Vegas, but this time it’s a bit more serious than traffic warrants and fireworks.
The rapper and reality TV personality, real name William Jonathan Drayton Jr., was arrested around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday after a domestic argument. According to a police report obtained by the Associated Press, he is accused of throwing his fiancee to the floor twice and wielding two knives while chasing and threatening to kill her 17-year-old son.
Liz Trujillo is the mother of Flav’s youngest child, 5-year-old Karma.
Nobody was injured seriously, though Flav sustained a small cut on his hand, police told the Las Vegas Review-Journal, which also noted that the 53-year-old was cited July 4 for disturbing the peace and possession of fireworks.
In May 2011, he was hauled in on four outstanding traffic warrants and later tweeted out a picture of the mug shot police snapped.
Flav is now facing a felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon and a misdemeanor battery-domestic violence count, with a sentence of up to six years looming on the former and six months on the latter.
Due in court Thursday, he was being held in lieu of $23,000 bail. He did a month in jail in 1991 for assaulting his then-girlfriend and three months in prison for shooting at a neighbor in New York in 1993, the AP said.
