Kristen Stewart cheating scandal: A timeline

Kristen Stewart’s “indiscretion” with director Rupert Sanders has brought another saga to “Twilight” town, and fallout with Stewart’s boyfriend Robert Pattinson and Sanders’ wife Liberty Ross is to be expected.

To head off any confusion, the Ministry offers this time line of the action (pun intended), as reported by Us Weekly, and the latest on where the players stand:

July 17: The day the lights went off in Forks, Wash. Tuesday the 17th saw Stewart departing the Los Feliz home she shared with Pattinson for a routine gym run, said the bombshell report, but winding up on a detour to the Westside of L.A. for a parking-lot make-out session with Sanders. Photos obtained by a paparazzo show Stewart and Sanders getting hot and heavy in her car, with the “Snow White and the Huntsman” director described as kissing Kristen “all over her body.”

From there, the pair caravaned back toward Hollywood and cuddled out in the open on a hiking trail that offers views of the Hollywood sign.

July 19: Rob and Kristen hit up frequent hangout Hotel Cafe, a live-music venue on Hollywod’s Cahuenga Corridor, catching a performance and exiting together. Business as usual and very much a couple.

July 22: The on-screen Edward and Bella join costar Taylor Lautner at the Teen Choice Awards, where “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” nabs a prize surfboard.

July 24: Twipocalypse. A thumbnail image of Us Weekly’s explosive cover, with photographic evidence of Stewart and Sanders’ hookup, surfaces on Twitter. Twi-fans erupt over claims that Stewart cheated on Pattinson, and the validity of the story is immediately called into question.

People magazine gets the jump on Us and publishes an end-of-day report, citing a Kristen source, that the story is true and Stewart is very sorry. Us publishes its exclusive. The world gasps.

July 25: Stewart and Sanders both issue exclusive apologies through People, with Kristen telling Rob she loves him, she loves him, and Sanders telling his wife and kids that he hopes they can work things out. Nothing is heard from Rob or Liberty, who’d previously tweeted “Wow” and then killed her Twitter account.

July 26: People reports Pattinson has moved out of the Los Feliz love nest he shared with Stewart. She is spotted leaving her gym, eight days after the same routine trip spurred the entire scandal.
