Kyle Abraham’s “Kollide” was one reward of BodyTraffic’s breakthrough on @TheBroadStage. Barak Marshall & mom, and dancers were also gifts.

“Rite of Spring” heralded @joffreyballet’s commitment to history. Its brilliance shone brightest, though, in Forsythe’s “In the Middle...”
For its astonishing dancers, @NDTdance makes this list. Medhi Walerski’s “Chamber” had pulsing power; Paul Lightfoot-Sol Leon works? Meh.
What would Tchaikovsky make of Matthew Bourne’s “Sleeping Beauty”? He’d applaud the romantic ache & love the danced reflection of his music.
Alonzo King’s ballets are hypnotic epic poems. In “Azimuth” he meshed his own regal Lines’ dancers with @HubbardStreet’s whip-fast troupe.
David Roussève’s sinuous solo brought his new “Stardust” to poignant catharsis. Teen angst captured in tweets, video and flowing gestures.
Los Angeles Ballet captured the roiling Romanticism in Balanchine’s “La Sonnambula,” a haunting piece of melodrama persuasively performed.
.@nycballet Tiler Peck & Robert Fairchild, @sfballet Damian Smith & Yuan Yuan Tan, & other guests made @FBToc gala an exceptional event.
