Trailer for ‘Alice Through The Looking Glass’ is another baffling return to Wonderland
Director James Bobin (“The Muppets”) takes over for Tim Burton in Disney’s return to the computer-generated world of “Alice in Wonderland.” Behold the befuddling first trailer for the green-screen fantasy flick, which sort of, kind of, has something to do with “Alice in Wonderland.”
Burton is on as producer to the sequel film, but Bobin is the new director. Despite Burton’s absence, most of the original cast has decided to go back through the looking glass, including Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen, Anne Hathaway as the White Queen, Mia Wasikowska as Alice and Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter. Joining the cast is Sacha Baron Cohen as Time (a character who is part human and part clock).

True, Wonderland shouldn’t be easy to comprehend, but this extension of the rebooted franchise stretches the imagination beyond recognition. However, the green-screen world is still quite visually compelling. “Alice Through the Looking Glass” will premiere May 27.
