Justice League and Power Rangers will meet in a crossover comic book series
The Justice League and Power Rangers are teaming up for a comic book crossover of your childhood dreams.
DC, Boom! Studios and Saban Brands have announced that the Justice League’s Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern (John Stewart), Flash and Cyborg will meet the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers in a six-issue miniseries from writer Tom Taylor and artist Stephen Byrne,
The two teams will meet when a breach of the Power Rangers’ command center damages the teleporters, causing Zack to be flung into an alternate universe full of costumed superheroes. The rest of the Rangers have to figure out how to get to Zack and save him from Batman.
While the announcement does not indicate that the series will set up a Justice League vs. Power Rangers scenario, it does seem like the DC superheroes are going to be wary of these extra-dimensional visitors, at least initially.

“DC and Boom! Studios teaming up on this crossover is a dream come true for fans of Saban’s Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and the Justice League,” Hank Kanalz, DC Entertainment’s senior vice president of editorial strategy and administration, said in a news release. “Stories like this are a great way to have that ‘what if’ itch scratched, combining favorite characters from different publishers in epic adventures.”
“We have iconic characters meeting for the first time that are beloved the world over! Our imaginations have been racing since the moment this kicked off with our friends at DC and Saban Brands. Get ready … this is one event that's not to be missed," added Boom! Studios Editor in Chief Matt Gagnon.
The series’ main covers will be drawn by Karl Kerschl. Additionally, each issue will feature a variant cover pairing each member of the Justice League with a different Power Ranger:
- Batman/Pink Ranger by Dan Hipp
- Cyborg/Blue Ranger by Dustin Nguyen
- The Flash/Black Ranger by Yasmine Putri
- Green Lantern John Stewart/Yellow Ranger by Marguerite Sauvage
- Superman/Green Ranger by Chris Sprouse
- Wonder Woman/Red Ranger by Marcus To
This Justice League/Power Rangers series, of course, is not the first time the two publishers have joined forces. DC and Boom! Studios’ previous collaborations include their “Lumberjanes/Gotham Academy” crossover series and the recently announced “Planet of the Apes/Green Lantern” series.
The Justice League/Mighty Morphin Power Rangers crossover series is set to launch Jan. 11, 2017.
