Annabeth Gish will return to ‘The X-Files’ as Monica Reyes
It looks like “The X-Files” event series is adding yet another familiar face.
Annabeth Gish will be reprising her role as FBI Agent Monica Reyes in an upcoming episode of the new “X-Files” series, Fox has announced.
Agent Reyes first appeared on “The X-Files” during the show’s eighth season. A friend of Agent John Doggett (Robert Patrick), who had been assigned to the X-Files following Mulder’s (David Duchovny) disappearance, Reyes eventually joined Doggett as his partner in investigating strange cases.
Like Mulder, Reyes was the established “believer” in her partnership (while Doggett and Scully were the skeptics), meaning she was more inclined to be open to the paranormal explanations that arose during their investigations.
Unlike Mulder (and most “X-Files” characters), Reyes was a bit more upbeat and a little quirky.
Besides Reyes, the list of characters confirmed to return for an appearance in the “X-Files” event series so far includes the Lone Gunmen (Dean Haglund, Tom Braidwood and Bruce Harwood), Walter Skinner (Mitch Pileggi) and the Cigarette Smoking Man (William B. Davis).
“The X-Files” will premiere Jan. 24, 2016.
