New girl (or boy) on the way for pregnant Zooey Deschanel

Zooey Deschanel is expecting a new girl (or boy) this summer.

The “New Girl” producer and star is pregnant with her first child with producer-boyfriend Jacob Pechenik, her rep confirmed to the Los Angeles Times on Tuesday.

“Jacob and I are over the moon. We are so excited to meet our little one,” the She & Him singer said in a statement to People magazine, which first reported the news.

Deschanel, 34, has been linked to the “Jobs” and “Before Midnight” executive producer since mid-2014. They’re working together on the forthcoming comedy “Rock the Kasbah.”

Before that, the HelloGiggles co-founder dated screenwriter James Linden for two years and was married to Death Cab for Cutie’s Ben Gibbard from 2009 until they finalized their split in December 2012.

No word yet on whether her pregnancy will affect production on the Fox comedy. A rep for the show said the network “doesn’t have any comment on future storylines or production for the time being.”

Meanwhile, the actress will have a bump buddy: Her older sister, “Bones” star Emily Deschanel, is pregnant with her second child.

The bangs-sporting, “adorkable” actress spoke out about motherhood in the August issue of InStyle, voicing her frustration about famous women often being asked if they want to be moms.

“Like every woman is dying to give birth! I don’t think so. Nobody asks guys that,” she told the magazine. “You go into a supermarket and every tabloid is like, ‘Pregnant and Alone!’ Stuck in this 1950s ideal of how a woman should live her life. That’s not something that defines me at all. ... This brings out the fiery feminist in me.”
