A saddened Tyler Perry requests ‘some decency and respect’ for Bobbi Kristina Brown

Tyler Perry has had it with ghoulish headlines about Bobbi Kristina Brown.

“It makes me sad to know that everybody wants to be the first to report something awful. So much so, that they find it OK to speak death onto those who are still alive,” the writer-director-actor wrote Thursday on Facebook after, he said, waking up with Whitney Houston on his mind. “May I ask you all to please show some decency and respect?”

Perry appeared to be reacting to stories in the last couple of days reporting a “mysterious tent” being erected Wednesday and a hearse spotted Thursday outside the Atlanta hospice where the only child of Houston and Bobby Brown has been since June 24. The 22-year-old has been unresponsive since being found unconscious Jan. 31 in a bathtub at the home she shared with Nick Gordon.

The hearse story even included a gallery of 10 photos of the vehicle under the headline “Bobbi Kristina Brown Death Watch.”

“For some reason, it has become human nature in our society to look for, seek out, and celebrate darkness, glory in tragedy, and enjoy reading and reporting it,” the “Madea” star said, noting that this can’t have been what his friend Whitney -- whom he eulogized at her funeral -- had dreamed of for her daughter.

Also, he said, other families unrelated to the Houstons and Browns have loved ones at the hospice and deserve respect in their grief.

“It’s heartbreaking to think that even in a time like this, this child is still not allowed any peace,” Perry wrote. “I assure you, the family will issue an official statement if something changes. Until then, can we just pray for Krissi, and the Houston and Brown families?”
