Beyonce’s mom, Tina Knowles, marries actor Richard Lawson
Tina Knowles and Richard Lawson looked very serious at a charity event in October, but were all smiles in a picture Beyonce posted of the newlyweds taken Sunday on a yacht off Newport Beach.
Beyonce and Solange Knowles’ mom Tina Knowles remarried on Sunday night, saying “I do” to actor Richard Lawson on a yacht off Newport Beach.
The family wore white, according to pictures obtained by TMZ that show the “Crazy in Love” singer, husband Jay Z, daughter Blue Ivy, sister Solange and her husband Alan Ferguson dressed for the celebration.
On Monday, Beyonce posted a wedding-day picture of the newlyweds sipping bubbly on deck.
Tina and Bey had shown up around noon Sunday to make sure everything was shipshape (ouch!) and then returned later for the ceremony, the website said.
Mama Knowles, 61, and her actor beau, 67, got engaged last October after dating since summer 2013. Tina and the Knowles’ ladies’ dad, Mathew Knowles, who’d been married for 31 years, separated in 2009 after it was revealed he’d had a child with another woman. Their divorce was final in late 2011, and he’s since had another child with another woman.
Beyonce shed her dad as a manager in early 2011 but told Us Weekly at the time that their split was on a business level only. “He is my father for life and I love my dad dearly,” she said. “I am grateful for everything he has taught me.”
