Scarlett Johansson debuts shorter, blonder haircut

New phase, new look: Scarlett Johansson has chopped off her blond tresses.

The pregnant “Lucy” star was photographed on Tuesday sporting a bright blond haircut with sweeping bangs while walking the streets of New York City with fiance Romain Dauriac.

Johansson, 29, who announced in March that she’s expecting her first child with the French journalist, was sporting a white T-shirt under black overalls and oversized sunglasses. But for the first time in a while, the real scene-stealer was her near-pixie haircut rather than her burgeoning belly.

The “Her” voice actress’ tresses have been changing all year. In March, when she was promoting “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” her shoulder-length ‘do took on a slightly reddish hue. In May, her hair was a bit shorter at an aristocratic wedding in Somerset, England.

The new cut comes just as rumors are swirling that the actress will wed Dauriac in a few weeks, according to Page Six, whose sources overheard “The Avengers” star saying so at a party earlier this month.

It’s been a good week for the sexy star: Her superhuman thriller “Lucy” out-muscled Dwayne Johnson’s “Hercules” at the box office last weekend, earning an impressive $44 million, Company Town reported.

Though headlines have been touting the triumph of a female-led film, Johansson didn’t do the typical media appearances -- TV interviews, red carpet premieres, etc. -- associated with promoting an upcoming film.

However, she did make a very brief video appearance during “The Avengers: Age of Ultron” panel at Comic-Con in San Diego last weekend, introducing footage from the upcoming film, in which she’ll reprise her role as Black Widow.
