Sarah Jessica Parker opens NYC townhouse for rapid-fire interview
Sarah Jessica Parker has welcomed a reporter to her townhouse in New York City’s West Village for an interview and a peek inside, and SJP fans with enough fortitude to withstand the interview’s rapid-fire pace are welcome to sneak a peek.
She’s shared the home with husband Matthew Broderick for about 13 years, with son James Wilkie and twin daughters Loretta and Tabitha joining them in 2002 and 2009, respectively. The joint has a homey but sophisticated feel, punctuated by shelves full of books, a piano, the actress’ collection of globes and a pingpong table smack in the middle of everything.
The “Sex and the City” star didn’t get to go to prom, she reveals, but says she “had a peach silk dress picked out.” Really, peach? OK, it was the ‘80s. She’s a fan of Greece but yearns to go to Vietnam. She says she wouldn’t leave New York City willingly, characterizing life there as “symphonic, tiny, real.”
Going out for a meal with SJP? Make sure they hold the parsley for this lady, who says the weirdest thing she’s ever eaten is kokoreç. (Click that link if you really want to know.)
And when it comes to her choice between heels or flats, well, she doesn’t even dignify that question with an answer besides a withering gaze.
The video is part of Vogue magazine’s Web series “Vogue Diaries,” which has past participants including Beyoncé, Lena Dunham, Tayor Swift and Meryl Streep.
