Samuel L. Jackson vs. Donald Trump: Who’s your money on?

Donald Trump may not remember playing golf with Samuel L. Jackson, but the actor definitely remembers playing golf with the presidential hopeful — and experiencing an unflattering aspect of the Donald's game.

"I don’t know @SamuelLJackson, to best of my knowledge haven't played golf w/him & think he does too many TV commercials—boring. Not a fan," the businessman tweeted Tuesday, presumably in response to something Jackson said about him in an interview published in the January issue of Rhapsody, United Airlines' in-flight magazine.

In the interview, after explaining that even though he had golfed with Trump the two were not buddies or friends, Jackson described the Donald thusly: "Interesting character. More P.T. Barnum than politician. I don't think he believes half the things he says."

Fair enough — but then Jackson, in declaring he was the better golfer, made what in golf circles is a very serious insinuation. "I don't cheat," he said, apparently with a smile.

Jackson built on the cheating implication Tuesday, after Trump had tweeted his disdain, when he sat down with Seth Meyers and the "Late Night" host asked if he'd in fact met the guy.

"I met him a lot," Jackson said. "I played golf with him. I actually played golf with him and Anthony Anderson one day and we were all playing together. We clearly saw him hit a ball, hook a ball, into a lake at Trump National in Jersey, and his caddy told him he found it.

And no, Jackson said, the caddy had not come back soaking wet.

"He just took off running and next thing we know, 'I got it Mr. Trump,'" Jackson said. "We were like, 'Did you see a splash? We saw a splash ... '"

"Black-ish" actor Anderson tweeted a few details Tuesday perhaps aimed at jogging Trump's memory.

In addition to Anderson, Jackson mentioned another famous type who could vouch for the fact that the "Snakes on a Plane" star and the candidate had crossed paths. Seems the real estate mogul phoned the actor one day and asked hey, would he be free for a round of golf, because Trump — who couldn't play that day but would show up mid-round to meet the duffers — had someone for him to join on the course.

"When I got there," Jackson told Meyers, "it was President Clinton."
