Paula Patton, Robin Thicke reach divorce agreement
Paula Patton is going to be a single lady this April: Details of her divorce from Robin Thicke have been finalized.
The “Precious” actress and the singer reached a settlement agreement regarding their property and custody of their 4-year-old son, Julian Fuego, according to court documents filed Tuesday and obtained by the Los Angeles Times.
Their marriage will officially be over on April 14, the documents said.
Patton, 39, filed for divorce in October, citing irreconcilable differences. She listed their date of separation as Sept. 21, 2014, and said they had been married for eight years and eight months.
Thicke’s longtime love, the inspiration for his 2014 tribute album “Paula,” originally sought joint legal and physical custody of their son. However, the terms of the final agreement were made in a stipulated judgment that was not available to the public.
This is the second legal blow this month for actor Alan Thicke’s 38-year-old son. He and “Blurred Lines” collaborator Pharrell Williams lost their copyright infringement case to the Marvin Gaye estate after a federal jury determined that parts of their 2013 hit were lifted from Gaye’s 1977 song “Got to Give It Up.”
The late soul singer’s family was awarded $7.3 million in damages, but Thicke and Williams’ attorneys remain adamant that the song was original and plan to appeal the verdict.
