Backstreet Boy Nick Carter marries Lauren Kitt in Santa Barbara
Backstreet Boys heartthrob Nick Carter is a married man: He said “I do” over the weekend.
The former boy bander, 34, who launched countless teen-girl crushes circa 2000, wed girlfriend Lauren Kitt on Saturday, he confirmed on Twitter late Sunday.
“Happiest day of my life 4-12-2014 I married my best friend and woman of my dreams. Lauren Kitt Carter honeymoon time!” he wrote.

If Kitt doesn’t have a colorfully scrawled “Mrs. Carter” in a notebook somewhere, perhaps she isn’t deserving of the honor...
OK, back to 2014.
The pair wed in Santa Barbara on a bluff overlooking the ocean. The sunset ceremony took place at the Bacara Resort, and the pair exchanged handwritten vows in front of about 100 guests, People reported, obtaining photos of the event. The reception took place in a ballroom later, and guests enjoyed dinner and late-night dancing.
The bride, a fitness expert and actress, wore a strapless gown and tucked her veil into her swept-back hair. The groom wore a custom tux by Anthony Franco Designs, according to the mag.

The couple announced their engagement in February 2013 after four years of dating and Carter’s proposal in the Florida Keys on what they affectionately call “Engagement Island.”
Among their wedding guests were Carter’s former bandmates Howie Dorough and A.J. McLean.
“Chillin at the house getting ready to head to the rehearsal dinner of the wedding most of u thought would never happen but I’m so happy it is finally!” McLean wrote on Instagram before the pre-wedding festivities. “Congrats to my little bro for growing up and finding love. So proud of u bro. Love u both @nickcarter and @laurenkitt”

On Sunday, McLean joined bandmate Brian Littrell at the MTV Movie Awards where they accepted the golden popcorn on behalf of the band for “best musical moment,” which took place during Seth Rogen and James Franco’s summer hit “This Is the End.”
Dorough shared his well wishes for the newlyweds on Sunday via Twitter.
“Had a wonderful time yesterday seeing my friend Nick get married. So proud and happy for him and Lauren. Now on my way to go snowboarding.:)” he wrote.
Noticeably absent from the festivities was Carter’s younger brother and “House of Carters” costar, Aaron Carter. The 26-year-old TV personality missed the wedding because of a commitment to appear at the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade in Washington, D.C., his rep told People.

The arrangements were made before the elder Carter settled on his wedding date.
“[We] realized there was a problem and figured out he could perform and get him to Santa Barbara so he would be there for the last two hours of the reception,” said his rep Steve Honig, adding that mechanical problems ultimately grounded the younger Carter’s plane.
“Aaron didn’t blow anything off and would have been there –- it’s a real bummer for him,” Honig said. “He feels bad he missed the wedding.”
