Mila Kunis on childbirth plans and her oddly secret engagement

Mila Kunis is planning to go au naturel -- at least as far as childbirth goes.

The actress acknowledged her pregnancy and her engagement to Ashton Kutcher in a sitdown with Ellen DeGeneres for the host’s Mother’s Day episode on Friday.

She also went into some detail about her plans for childbirth: the natural route. That’s right, no epidural. “I know, I’m crazy,” she told DeGeneres.

The couple looked into “the midwife aspect” of a home birth, then Kunis learned through her OB-GYN that there was a “midwife/doula type of thing” available at the hospital she plans to use for her delivery.

“I’m going to do it as all-natural as I possibly can, unless there’s an emergency or something that should go wrong,” the 30-year-old said.

“I did this to myself, I might as well just do it right,” Kunis said, earning laughs from the audience. “I wanted this,” she clarified. “It’s not like -- no one made me do this.”

But DeGeneres had a point of clarification as well, noting that in fact the “Black Swan” star had not done this to herself. “I know that much. I may not know much, but I know that much.”

“I may have had a little help. A little bit,” Kunis admitted, making a “little” gesture with her thumb and forefinger.

“Well, you don’t want to say that either,” the comic pointed out.

Cue laughter all around, with the amused actress pretty much doubling up, clapping and dabbing at her eye.

Kunis, who’d revealed cravings for sauerkraut and pickles that were satisfied by doting fiance Kutcher, seemed a little amazed by how long it took the paparazzi to notice that rock on her left hand.

“We were able to keep this private for two months,” she said about her engagement to the 36-year-old “Two and a Half Men” star. “Two months without anybody knowing.

“I think ... everybody assumed we’d been engaged so long, that I was wearing the ring in public for two months, and ... nobody commented on it in a single photograph. ... they decided not to acknowledge it for two months.”

Their engagement reports bubbled up at the end of February, with the baby rumors following toward the end of May. Kunis is clearly past the point of hiding anything now.

By the way, the parents-to-be do know the baby’s gender, and have already picked a name.

Those tidbits, however, they’re still keeping private.
