Singer Miguel arrested on suspicion of DUI in Marina del Rey
R&B singer Miguel was arrested in the wee hours Thursday on suspicion of DUI in Marina del Rey, according to police.
The 27-year-old Grammy winner, real name Miguel Pimentel, was initially pulled over for speeding and having his car windows tinted, a California Highway Patrol spokeswoman told L.A. Now.
The “Adorn” singer failed a field sobriety test, the CHP said, and blew 0.10 blood alcohol count on a breath test. He was arrested at 2:39 a.m., booked around 3:30 and released a little after 5 a.m. on $5,000 bail.
Miguel took home the prize for R&B song for “Adorn” at the 2013 Grammy Awards in February, and was nominated for rap song, song of the year, R&B performance and urban contemporary album for “Kaleidoscope Dream.”
He’s due in court Sept. 9.
