Kelly Osbourne addressed her departure from E!’s “Fashion Police” on Tuesday during an appearance on mum Sharon Osbourne’s “The Talk.”

The lavender-haired fashionista, daughter of rocker Ozzy Osbourne, abruptly left the cable network’s snarky sartorial roundtable late last month. The move came swiftly after co-host Giuliana Rancic insulted Zendaya Coleman’s Oscars look, saying that the 18-year-old’s dreadlocks made her look like she smelled like “patchouli oil or weed.”

On Tuesday’s gabfest, Osbourne stepped in as co-host, making her first appearance since her “Fashion Police” departure. Though she didn’t share what ultimately made her sign off of E!, she did say she was grateful for her time at the network.

“Do you know what, it was the five best working years of my life,” she said. “I am so grateful for the experience — I can’t even — working with Joan Rivers for five years was incredible. I learned so much, and I’m excited for my future now. I want to try new things.”

Rivers, of course, was the sharp-tongued comedian who chaperoned the show until her untimely death in September. It has since been hosted by comedian Kathy Griffin, Rancic and newcomer Brad Goreski.

After the backlash erupted after Rancic’s comments, the drama played out on Twitter despite apologies from the E! personality and acceptance from Coleman.

Osbourne, 30, first insisted that she would not be dragged into the squabble and reminded her Twitter following that she and Coleman are friends.

Then she continued to weigh in on the controversy despite being contractually obligated not to speak about it. She insisted that she wasn’t the one who made the weed comment and did not “condone racism.” Because of that, she questioned staying on the show.

“It takes a strong women to apologize & makes a forgiving women even stronger! #ThisTooShallPass,” she tweeted.

By week’s end, the network announced that Osbourne had stepped down “to pursue other opportunities.”
