Katharine McPhee caught locking married lips with ‘Smash’ director

Hit the brakes! Former “Smash” actress Katharine McPhee has been caught locking lips with someone who appears to be former “Smash” director Michael Morris. In public and in daylight, no less.

Photos obtained by TMZ definitely show something going on.

And why is that a big deal? Well, McPhee and Morris are both married to other people -- though TMZ sources say McPhee, 29, and her husband have been separated for six months and are living apart. No word yet on Morris and wife Mary McCormack’s relationship status.

So who are these other people McPhee and Morris are married to? First, McPhee is technically with 47-year-old music producer Nick Cokas. The pair met at a Los Angeles production of the musical “The Ghost and Mrs. Muir” and married in February 2008. They have no children together. McPhee told Lucky magazine in January of this year that “I once thought that by now I’d have lots of children, but actually I’m really enjoying being able to go from point A to point B and the only worry I have is have my dogs been walked.”

There may be other worries on the horizon. Just a guess.

Meanwhile, “Political Animals” director Morris has been married to “In Plain Sight” actress McCormack for more than a decade; the pair have three daughters under the age of 9.

At this point, all one can do is gawk at the photos. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and in this case one of those words might be “Oops.”

McPhee’s publicist did not immediately respond to a Times request for comment about her client’s relationship status.
