Kate Bosworth marries Michael Polish in Montana ranch wedding
Kate Bosworth tied the knot last week wearing two Oscar de la Renta gowns.
The “Straw Dogs” actress, 30, married director Michael Polish, 42, in an intimate ranch ceremony in Philipsburg, Mont., on Aug. 31, according to Martha Stewart Weddings, which helped organize the big day by mixing Victorian touches and romantic Western influences.
Bosworth and Polish met when he directed her in the drama “Big Sur” in 2011, according to People, and the pair said it was love at first sight.

“I never even dated my husband-to-be,” Bosworth said in InStyle UK’s September issue (via People). “He said to me after just a few weeks before we were even together, ‘I’m going to marry you.’ He just knew.”
Bosworth confirmed their engagement in September 2012 with a tweet thanking well-wishers: “Thank you for all the wonderful engagement wishes...We feel truly blessed.”
The bride arrived at The Ranch at Rock Creek ceremony in a horse-drawn stagecoach and the couple read their vows on a bluff where the 70-person ceremony was held.
This is the first marriage for Bosworth and the second for Polish, who divorced makeup artist Jo Strettell in 2004. His daughter with Strettell, Jasper, 15, took part in the ceremony, and celebrity guests included newlywed “In A World” star and director Lake Bell and “Justified’s” Walton Goggins.

Bosworth wore two dresses by Oscar de la Renta. For the ceremony, she stunned in an ivory radzimir-satin strapless ball gown with a sweeping 8-by-16-foot train. Polish wore a three-piece charcoal Brooks Brothers suit.
“Seeing the dress, I was totally shocked at my complete lack of control over my emotions in that moment,” she told Vogue. “It’s a dress that reflects the love I have for my partner. It’s a reflection on my life. It’s a reflection of the woman I’ve become.”
“I love the dress because when you see the front it feels so minimal but when you turn around there’s this dramatic sort of glorious fall of the fabric,” she added. “There’s so much poetry and elegance to it.”
She finished the “minimalist” look with sparkling estate diamond jewelry, leaving the embellishment to her sparkles from Stephen Russell.
For the reception, the new Mrs. swapped her ball gown for a traditional gown and wore a floral embroidered tulle gown with scalloped cap sleeves.
The newlyweds and guests celebrated in the property’s Granite Lodge, where they enjoyed a meal provided by local selection. Kelly Willis and Bruce Robison covered the music and the party followed at the Silver Dollar Saloon.
A few days after their “I Dos,” the Mr. and Mrs. were spotted at LAX looking “totally in love” as they arrived at the airport Monday, according to Us Weekly.
“Overwhelmed at the beautiful response to our union... Thank you everyone. X,” Bosworth tweeted Tuesday.
More details from Bosworth’s nuptials will be showcased in Martha Stewart’s Weddings magazine’s real weddings feature in December.
