Jason Aldean defends his relationship with Brittany Kerr
Jason Aldean has moved on with his post-wife life and he wishes others would do the same.
The country-music star spoke out Sunday on Instagram in reaction to not-so-nice commentary regarding a photo he’d posted the day before of himself and a French bulldog with Brittany Kerr, whom he called “my girl” before adding the hashtag, “#loveubaby.”
“So sick of people judging me and @brittanylkerr over things they know nothing about,” Aldean, 37, wrote as a caption to a photo quote that read, “You know my name, not my story. You’ve heard what I’ve done, not what I’ve been through.”
“I have made mistakes but i am a better person because of it, and wouldnt change a thing,” he said. “Im happier than i have ever been, so thank u to all the people who support us. We are happy and life goes on. “
Kerr, now Aldean’s girlfriend, was the woman he was caught kissing at an Los Angeles bar in September 2012, when he was still married to Jessica Ussery. At the time, the father of two owned up, saying he’d made a mistake and needed to work through things privately.
“I had too much to drink, let the party get out of hand and acted inappropriately at a bar,” he said, noting that he’d embarrassed himself and his family. “I left alone, caught the bus to our next show and that’s the end of the story.”
Not quite: In April 2013, after nearly 12 years of marriage, he filed for divorce. And this past March, it became public knowledge that he and Kerr, a 27-year-old former “American Idol” contestant and NBA cheerleader, were dating.
The two walked the CMT Music Awards red carpet coupled up in June.
“Its time to move on people,” Aldean concluded Sunday. “#aldeanarmy #oldnews #timetomoveon.”
