Ending a summer of speculation, Janet Jackson has finally confirmed her long-rumored pregnancy at age 50, People reported Wednesday.

The youngest child of the Jackson musical dynasty, the artist said of her late-in-life pregnancy, “We thank God for our blessing.”

Rumors that Jackson was a potential mama-to-be sprang up originally with the postponement of her “Unbreakable” tour in April, at which point the singer released a video to her fans saying, “We’re in the second leg of the tour and there actually has been a sudden change.”

Jackson went on to speak about how she and her husband were planning a family, so the tour would need to be delayed.

A month later, Jackson released a video for the third single off of “Unbreakable,” a song called “Dammn Baby,” which fans took to be another indication that there was a baby on the way for Jackson and her businessman husband, Wissam Al Mana, 41.

Then, in June, Jackson’s older brother Tito went on “Andy Cohen Live” on Sirius XM and told the Bravo host that “Janet is very well pregnant. She’s doing very well, taking it easy. As you know, she’s off tour, so she’s protecting her health.”

Jackson herself never confirmed her brother’s statements and has been flying under the radar in recent months, a choice that meant that any potential baby bump was under wraps until now.

This is the first child for both Jackson and husband Wissam Al Mana. Though the pair married in 2012, the news didn’t become public knowledge until 2013, further evidence of Jackson’s preference for keeping her private life private.
