Ian Somerhalder, Nikki Reed are married

Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed got married in a sunset ceremony on Sunday, according to reports out Monday.

“most beautiful morning ever...,” Somerhalder tweeted on his wedding day.

The wedding took place outdoors in Topanga Canyon, near Malibu, People reported Monday. Singer and “Twilight” actress Reed, 26, wore a white mermaid-style gown with long, lacy sleeves.

“The Vampire Diaries” star, 36, was photographed carrying his bride down a hill after the ceremony, while they were posing for wedding pics, according to X17 Online.

In lieu of gifts, the animal-loving couple asked that donations be made to an animal charity, “Entertainment Tonight” said.

The couple, who became engaged in January, started dating last summer.

This is the first time that Somerhalder has said “I do,” though he did famously date “Diaries” costar Nina Dobrev for a couple of years before they split in May 2013.

It’s a second marriage for Reed, who tied the knot with “American Idol” contestant Paul McDonald in mid-2011. She filed for divorce in May 2014 as part of an amicable split.

Reps for the bride and the groom did not immediately respond Monday to requests for comment.
